Circus Science

Ladies and gentlemen! Boys and girls! Step right up and be a part of Circus Science! Immerse yourself in the circus arts while learning basic scientific principles that make these amazing feats of strength and balance possible. We will incorporate traditional circus disciplines, demonstrated by skilled Imperial Opa Circus acrobats, and scientific principles, explained by Georgia Tech “Science Clowns”, to entertain and educate you. You will even have the opportunity to participate in learning several circus skills in order to experience the science within first hand! More info!

Wildly Spectacular Sports Science

Sean Connolly, author of The Book of Totally Irresponsible Science, The Book of Potentially Catastrophic Science, and The Book of Perfectly Perilous Math, has a new book: The Book of Wildly Spectacular Sports Science! It's the thrill of victory. It's the agony of defeat. It's science! Sean will explain and demonstrate the scientific principles behind all kinds of sports including the movement of knuckleballs, hang time, and karate chops. More info!

Breaking Down the Campground

We're exploring the science behind your favorite summer camp activities! We'll be doing different camptivities like canoeing and crafting, but with a science and engineering twist. Learn what makes a boat float, how engineering can help you make robust crafts and more! More info!

Connected Cycling Showcase

Have you ever wanted to hack your bike? Check out our showcase to see how technology can help you do that. We'll be showing off how our hacking teams use Internet of Things technologies to create a better bike, a better workout and a better ride.
